I think that the parallel novels are telling the story from a different perspective and providing details about characters that weren't important in the initial Ender's Game.

Not on topic, but I think the best book that Card has written is Pastwatch, the Redemption of Christopher Columbus. I've reread that one several times.TheWizardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04496039690283102655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7361272511134966548.post-25398572332885432682010-06-17T00:18:39.486-06:002010-06-17T00:18:39.486-06:00Yeah, that's true. I hadn't really thought...Yeah, that's true. I hadn't really thought of that. But it's totally right. It just really bothers me that he'll analyze a situation and if it doesn't quite make sense, or if it's a little off, he just thinks about it for a minute and suddenly knows exactly what's going on and why everyone is doing what they're doing. It's not like it took him a week of pondering. Just a few seconds.

But Carolyn, I would approve of that decision :DSamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09748015099800847012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7361272511134966548.post-44974709525869625052010-06-16T21:37:54.439-06:002010-06-16T21:37:54.439-06:00i've only ever read enders game and only once....i've only ever read enders game and only once... maybe I'll read it again. :)Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09115149498249621873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7361272511134966548.post-81294290467374469542010-06-16T12:47:42.369-06:002010-06-16T12:47:42.369-06:00I mostly agree. I don't think they should have known so much about what they're kids are doing, otherwise it kind of takes a lot away from peter and valentine. Also, bean is completely and horribly annoying in the first book, when they're trying to show off how he could be better than ender if he cared, but doesn't care so he'll just sit back and let ender be the hero. That's what I don't like about him. the genetically engineered thing doesn't really bug me, just the look how smart I am but don't care if I'm smarter than other people and could totally do what they're doing with half the effort they're using to do it, thing.Shinobihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17648935463490013751noreply@blogger.com
